UPDATE: Military Mondays On A Tuesday – Meet Dustin Milam [PHOTOS!]

Since yesterday was a day off for most of us, I thought I'd take some liberties with Military Monday's and do one today.  I know, I'm a rebel!

Military Monday's is KISS FM's way of saying "Thank You" to our Fort Bliss soldiers and their families.  As you know, I'm a military mom, and I know how proud military families are of their family members in the service.  Click on the link above and you can nominate your family member to be a part of Military Monday's.  They'll not only get the recognition on our website, but they'll also win some cool prizes as well!

Today's Military Monday's recipient is Dustin Milam.  He is in the Army and is stationed at Fort Bliss.  His soon-to-be mother-in-law, Jessica, nominated him.  I just got off the phone with Jessica and asked a few questions about Dustin.  She doesn't know his rank, but she does know that Dustin and her daughter, Deandrea, will be getting married on the 15th of this month!

Jessica says Dustin joined the military when he finished high school in Alabama.  He has been deployed twice to Iraq and Afghanistan, and "by the grace of God, he has made it home safely".  Jessica also says that Dustin is the kind of person who would go out of his way to help someone in need.

When Dustin is at family gatherings and he is thanked for his service, Jessica says that he is very humble and says, "It's my job".  I know that is the response I get so many times when I thank a soldier - they genuinely seem to be surprised that a total stranger would thank them for something they see as an everyday activity.

We would like to thank Dustin Milam for his service to our country, and his soon-to-be mother-in-law, Jessica, for nominating him!  And a big congratulations to Dustin and Deandrea on their big day!

Peanut Milam - that's what his grandma, Jessica said the baby's name was! - in February of next year!  Congratulations to Dustin and Deandrea on their wedding September 15th, 2012, and the impending birth of Peanut!
