Mike’s the Stupid News: Two Guys Try to Tunnel Out of Prison But Give up After One Day

Two 18-year-old cellmates in England recently decided to try to escape from prison by tunneling out "Shawshank Redemption" style, but gave up after 24 hours ... then tried to rat each other out.

David Crossfield and Jordan Morgan started scrapping a hole in their cell wall using a drawer handle. The plan was to dig through the brick wall and hide the debris in a pair of pants. But either it was too much work or they didn’t have the patience for it because they gave up after only one day! Then in an effort to avoid having more time added to their sentence, they ratted on each other.

In the end, they both ended up getting two more months in prison, and, in a classic case of adding insult to injury, their tunnel wouldn't even have led them outside the prison walls. It turns out their planned tunnel would have ended up in an enclosed area still inside the prison. Doh!
