If sticking food items on skewers and dipping them in melted cheese sounds like your kind of dining out scene, you’re going to love the newest restaurant coming to El Paso.

The Melting Pot is bringing its signature cheese and chocolate fondues to our little corner of the desert. The Florida-based chain will be opening an El Paso location at the Fountains at Farah "soon," according to its website.

The high-end restaurant is best known for its "interactive dining experience" that, I'm told, can last 2 - 3 hours and features tabletops with induction heating elements. That's because you may have to cook some of your food, depending on how many and which courses you opt for.

Besides cheese fondues, the menu also features a variety of entrées, salads, fine wines and chocolate fondue desserts.

Currently under construction, The Melting Pot will be located on the lower level next to P.F. Chang's. A projected opening date has not been announced.

UPDATED 9/12/18: The Melting Pot will open for business at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
