Lonestar to Perform at Halftime of Sun Bowl Game

Its official: the country band Lonestar will be this year’s Hyundai Sun Bowl game half time performers, as first reported on Mike and Tricia Mornings on December 1.

“We couldn't be more excited to have them perform at this year's Hyundai Sun Bowl halftime," Mayor Oscar Leeser of Hyundai of El Paso said in a press release. "This award-winning group has dozens of country hits under their belt and we are sure the football fans will enjoy their performance at Sun Bowl Stadium."

Lonestar is best known for their 1999 #1 crossover song "Amazed," which was the first country song to top the Billboard Hot 100 since 1983's "Islands in the Stream".

The 2014 Hyundai Sun Bowl game will feature the Sun Devils of Arizona State against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, Dec. 27 at noon at Sun Bowl Stadium.
