NBA, Reality TV Star Lamar Odom Found Unconscious in Nevada Brothel

Lamar Odom is in a Nevada hospital after he was found unresponsive at a brothel yesterday afternoon. At this time, the only substance he’s known to have been using was an herbal substitute for Viagra.

ESPN reports that the former basketball star and ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian had been partying for several days at the Love Ranch South, a legal brothel in Crystal, Nevada. At around 3 p.m. yesterday, two women went into his room after not hearing from him since early morning, and found him face down and unconscious. When they turned him on his side at the direction of a 911 operator, "a mucus-type liquid [started] coming out of his nose and mouth."

Odom was taken to a nearby hospital, and later rushed by ambulance to a Las Vegas hospital where he remains in critical condition. Per TMZ, which was the first to report on his hospitalization, Lamar is breathing with the help of machines. Sources tell the gossip site his “heart is failing,” and that “he is having serious problems with his kidneys and lungs as well.” At this time, his prognosis doesn’t look good.

The brothel's owner, Dennis Hof, told several news and entertainment sources Odom had been using "herbal Viagra" and "he was taking a lot of it." No illegal drugs were found in his room.

Khloe, along with her sister Kim Kardashian, and their mother Kris Jenner, are reportedly by his side.

Odom, who won two NBA championships with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, last played in the NBA in 2013. He attained reality TV fame through his four-year marriage to Khloe Kardashian.

Khloe filed for divorce in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences. Her request to dissolve their marriage has not yet received final approval from a judge.
