OCTOBER 2, 10:53 PM: Fans are concerned for Kanye West and the Kardashian family after the rapper abruptly cut his headlining set short during his show at the Meadows Festival in Queens on Sunday night (October 2).
While performing his single "Heartless," the artist was suddenly pulled aside by someone on his team. Stopping the music, Kanye, sounding harried, apologized and told the crowd that he had been alerted to a family emergency and would need to leave immediately.
"I’m sorry," he announced. "I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show."
Kanye was expected to perform for at least an additional 20 minutes, until 10 p.m. His set was cut short at around 9:40 p.m.
While neither the rapper nor the Kardashians have addressed the "family emergency," Sara Tariq, a writer for Billboard and Complex, tweeted that allegedly Kim had been robbed at gunpoint in Paris, where she is currently in town for fashion week with her sisters.
