These Terrifying Movies Are Based on Real Texas Murders
Texas has been no stranger to crime & murder; we've seen several infamous killers make their mark in history (we've even see some of these killers be "immortalized" in song). Some of these killers have even been immortalized in movies too.
Of course we can't talk about murder films in Texas with mentioning perhaps the most notorious example of a Texas murderer film is none other than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Whether it's the original 1974 film, the sequels, the prequels or the remakes afterwards, this is probably what most people think of when you films that talk about killing in the state of Texas. While the film is completely fictional, it WAS based around real life murderers like Ed Gein (but he did his killings in Wisconsin).
Another example worth mentioning is the 1981 film, Murder in Texas, that starred Katharine Ross, Sam Elliott, Farrah Fawcett & Andy Griffith. This was actually a television film, meaning it aired in two parts on tv, not the big screen.
But there HAVE been films that take place in Texas & that focus on some of the grizzliest and cold blooded cases that have been transformed onto the big screen.

Another example is the 2008 film, Baby Blues, which is loosely based around Andrea Yates, would murdered her 5 children by drowning them in their Houston home.
