A 21-year-old El Paso man has been arrested for stabbing a cat multiple times, killing the animal.
He’s accused of other things like theft of property, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief. But, the cat thing is what caught people’s attention.
Netflix has a true crime documentary from 2019 called “Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer”.
The subject in that documentary murdered a human, but the cat thing was what got him caught. People were so thoroughly disgusted with videos this guy posted of himself torturing cats, that they (cat lovers of the internet) worked together to track him down. They succeeded and the guy, one Luka Magnotta of Canada was outed as the cat-killer. The police also tied him to the killing of a Chinese student studying in America. But, it was the cat torture that led to his downfall.
El Paso Police received a report of a man stabbing a cat on the 3000 block of Douglas Avenue on Thursday, July 18. They responded to the scene and found the deceased cat, but not the perpetrator. Eventually, they apprehended 21-year-old Krystopher Nathan Torres.
Torres was booked into El Paso County Jail with a bond set at $100,000. As of today, Torres has not yet posted bail.
Don’t F…with cats! Truer words have never been said.
