Texas Buyers Lured by Cheap Prices Now Facing Title Problems
If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.
A car dealership is being investigated after detectives became aware of multiple red flags. The dealship irconically named, Legit Auto Group, caught the attention of Bexar County Sheriff's Office after posting vehicles for sale online.
The dealership had multiple sports cars listed for too good to be true prices. We all love a good deal, but sometimes there’s more to the story than just an unbelievably low price.
According to Sheriff Javier Salazar, detectives began looking into the business after noticing a pattern of online post advertising vehicles for sale at eye catching low prices.
Investigators contacted the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and later went to physically inspect the car dealership.
While there, detectives noticed many vehicles had mechanical issues like leaking fluids. After the inspecting detectives revealed the dealership was not properly licensed. On to of that, many of the dealerships documents appeared to be altered or completely fake.
Although detectives did not believe any of the vehicles were stolen, they confiscated right after highly suspecting they were “improperly transferred.”
“At this point I don’t know that there’s anything legit about this car dealership,” Salazar said. He highly doubted much had been done legally from the start.
Many people were lured into the dealership by eye catching low prices but were dealt crooked hand.
Some customers who bought a vehicle from Legit Auto Group said they never receive proper titles after purchasing vehicles.
As of now, there have been no arrests made.
