Veterans Day: What’s Open and Closed in El Paso, TX on Veterans Day
El Pasoans, get ready for a long weekend honoring our veterans! Monday, November 11, marks Veterans Day—a federal holiday—and a chance for us to recognize the brave individuals who’ve served. Here’s a quick guide on what will be open and closed around El Paso County.
What’s Closed:
In observance of Veterans Day, several city services will be taking the day off. This includes the following:
- City museums (Archaeology, Art, and History),
- El Paso Public Libraries
- Recreation centers
- City community clinics.
- The City municipal court, tax office, and WIC offices will also be closed.
- Local school districts, including YISD, EPISD, and SISD, will also be closed for the day. Classes will resume Tuesday, November 12th, so families can enjoy the full holiday!
What’s Open:
Not everything is shutting down for the day!
- Essential services like garbage and recycling collection, landfills, and animal adoption centers (open for limited hours) will still be available.
- The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Garden will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
- Sun Metro buses are running on their regular schedules.
Banks, post offices, and federal buildings will close on Monday in honor of Veterans Day. However, UPS and FedEx services will continue as usual.
