It’s Been 10 Years & Texas License Plates Need A New Look Badly
Since 2012 Texas drivers have had the standard white license plate issued for everyone in the State. A lot of people have strong opinions on whether or not it looks good.
One YouTuber in particular, Huggbees (who currently has over 1.3 million subscribers), uploaded a video where he roasts all 50 of the states license plates. If you want to hear his opinions on Texas, skip to about 23:11 in the video.
His opinions on how he feels about the Texas plate can be described this image:
This wasn't the first time he roasted all 50 states either; he's done one of each state's flags & the giant state welcome signs.
Now ignoring all the other strong things he has to say; I have to say.... I agree with Huggbees.
Texas has had many different designs in the past; it's surprisingly just how much the current design looked like the classic design. (But not necessarily in a good way either)
My particular favorites were the Lone Star plate
and the Panoramic.
Basically the ones we had BEFORE the changes.
Those designs had looks that POP. They looked colorful, simple & effective. But now... it's just a standard white plate but a very tiny Texas symbol & a star in the top left (which are SO SMALL you wouldn't be able to see anyway unless you're directly behind someone).
Now of course you CAN get your customized design or a specialty plate; but you'd have to pay for it to be made. Even then.. you have to be careful that it follows the guidelines; lest ye be pulled over by the Texas cops.
This just reenforces my opinion; we should have a normal, better looking, license plate in the state of Texas. Either bring back the classic designs from the 2000s or design a newer one that can properly show off the beauty of Texas.
Of course that's just MY opinion...
