Here we go again; another full-day closure of a portion of I-10 in west El Paso is happening this weekend.

The latest inconvenience will be in the form of a 27-hour closure of I-10 West between Sunland Park Drive and North Mesa Street this Sunday, January 20.

Ongoing construction related to the GO10 project will require a complete shutdown of the above-mentioned section of Interstate 10 beginning at 3 a.m. through 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21.

As a result, motorists traveling west to Redd, Artcraft and beyond will have to exit I-10 at Sunland Park Drive and either take Sunland Park to Mesa and head up, or Sunland Park to Doniphan to reenter I-10 west at N. Mesa.

Concurrently, the Sunland Park Drive entrance ramp to I-10 West will be closed as well.

According to a notice on the GO10 website, work on the section will include changing traffic lane patterns on I-10 Westbound between Resler Drive and North Mesa Street. TxDot says expect to be driving on the main lanes of I-10 west on Monday instead of the collector-distributor (CD) lanes that run alongside I-10 like you have been for the last several months.
