Gov. Abbott announced on Facebook Thursday (May 7, 2020) how he has now eliminated the confinement of business owners that reopen even though it violates state reopening orders.

According to NewsWest 9, the governor stated how it was nonsensical for Texas business owners to be jailed for operating their businesses that were shut down by COVID-19.

He said this modification to the executive order will supersede the order he made on April 2.

Protests have been going on all over the state with people protesting that gyms and salons should be able to open before the date they have been allowed to, so this should eliminate the need for anymore protests.
