7 New COVID-19 Related Deaths in El Paso, Total Now at 30

On May 7th, 2020, El Paso, Texas officials announced the deadliest day for COVID-19 related deaths in our area. 7 new deaths were announced, which now brings the total COVID-19 related deaths in El Paso, Texas to 30.

As for new COVID-19 confirmed cases, 71 new cases have been reported as of May 7th, 2020. The total confirmed cases is now 1,190

According to officials and KVIA, the spike in cases is most likely from Easter weekend. As Mother's Day approaches, El Pasoans really need to take the COVID-19 issue seriously.

El Pasoans are urged to still follow safety precautions as the city begins to reopen, along with the rest of the state of Texas. Have some common sense when going out and about El Paso.  In response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, our City and County officials are working on proposing amendments to the Local Emergency Directive, which will go into place on May 1st, 2020.
