The announcement was made about the teams who will be facing off in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game this year, but there was another announcement that you need to know about if you plan on going to the game this year.

Officials with the Sun Bowl Association announced that Arizona State will play Florida State in the Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl on New Year's eve. Arizona has a 7-5 season record, and Florida State finished 6-6 on the season. The Arizona State Sun Devils have been to the Sun Bowl 3 times in the last six seasons, but it is the Florida State Seminoles first time to the Sun Bowl in more than fifty years. They made the trip to the Sun Bowl in 1966 and 1955.

If you are planning on going to see the game, then you need to know that there will be considerably fewer seats this year. The Sun Bowl face lift is a multi-year project and is scheduled to be completed by next football season. This season, however, there will be about 6,000 fewer seats because of the ongoing construction. Those seats are in the upper portion of the Sun Bowl.

Sun Bowl officials say they hope that people will not only watch at home, but also tailgate near the Sun Bowl and fill up the sports bars and restaurants in the UTEP area as well as in the downtown area. If you plan on tailgating, here are some rules you need to follow.

Tickets to the game can be purchased by clicking here, on ticketmaster.com, at the Sun Bowl Association Office or by calling (915) 533-4416.
