Get Free Medical Will Advice From The El Paso County Attorney’s Office Today
If you would like to get help with drafting an advanced medical directive, or a medical will, the El Paso County Attorney’s Office will be in Montana Vista today to answer your questions. Advance directives are legal documents and it tells your family about your end-of-life care decisions ahead of time. It gives your family, friends, and health care professionals the details you want followed about your medical care so that if you can’t communicate your wishes, they are there in black and white.
Some of the issues outlined in an advanced medical directive are the use of dialysis and breathing machines, DNR or do not resuscitate directives if you stop breathing or your heart stops, and organ or tissue donation.
You can also find out about a medical power of attorney that will allow you to designate someone you trust to make health decisions if you are unable to do so.
Any resident of El Paso County can get the free assistance as long as they have a current picture ID.
