The El Paso Fire and Health Departments just announced new June and July dates for free medical services for senior citizens in El Paso.

The program “Vaccinations for Health” that teams up the El Paso Fire Department with the El Paso Health Department to provide free pneumonia vaccines, blood pressure and glucose screenings and colorectal screening kits for seniors will continue through June and July with the following dates and locations:

  • June 25: Chelsea Apartments, 600 Chelsea St., 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • July 9: Dreams Health Fair, Jefferson High Gym, 4700 Alameda Ave., 8 a.m. to noon

Residents of El Paso and Hudspeth Counties who are 50 years of age or older and either are on Medicaid or are not insured qualify. The services include a basic health screening, influenza/pneumonia vaccine and a colorectal cancer screening kit.

The service is free to residents 50 and over and senior citizens are highly encouraged to take advantage of the program. The goal of the program is to increase the wellness of our senior citizens in our community who do not have access to these services.
