Fort Bliss To Put Daily Curfew Into Place In Response To Coronavirus
Beginning Thursday, April 9, at 10 p.m., Fort Bliss will be enacting a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. There are also policy changes about when to wear a face mask during the coronavirus outbreak.
There are some questions and answers about the new policies on the post's FAQ page:
1. Face coverings - If you go into a non-residential facility or building on Fort Bliss you are required to wear a mask or appropriate cloth face covering if you can't maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
2. Social distancing - Bliss officials say both face masks and social distancing are required as well as the standard precautions such as covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and hand washing to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Whether or not you are wearing a mask you are still required to maintain social distancing where you can.
Because medical-grade masks are scarce, Fort Bliss officials say they should be reserved for frontline health-care workers. On their FAQ page, you can find directions on how to make your own face mask.
