Foreigner to Return to El Paso to Play Greatest Hits For Us
One of the most popular bands from the late ’70s/early ’80s is headed back to El Paso. The legendary rock band Foreigner is bringing their playlist of musical memories to the Abraham Chavez Theatre next year, El Paso Live has announced.
As more and more things restart and life goes back to as close to pre-pandemic days as possible, more live shows, festivals, and concerts are making a return to the Sun City this fall and winter while others are locking dates down for next year.
Foreigner is one of the live shows you can expect to see in 2022 – provided the unvaccinated and the highly contagious delta variant don’t ruin it for everyone.
The band is coming to town with its “Greatest Hits” tour and will be making a stop here on Monday, April 11.
Now before you hand Ticketmaster your hard earned money to hear the old school sound, I have to tell you there is only one remaining original member from the group’s classic lineup, and it’s not lead singer Lou Gramm.
On the upside, it’s lead guitarist Mick Jones so all those tasty licks from classic songs like Feels Like The First Time, Hot Blooded, Juke Box Hero, and Urgent will come from the guy who wrote them. And I hear current lead vocalist Kelly Hansen (since 2005) has got a great set of pipes on him, so that's a plus too.
Foreigner last played here in January of 2017. After all we've been through since then I'm sure next year's show will feel like the first time for El Paso classic-rock fans.
