The EPISD Board of Trustees have called for a special meeting Thursday in which they will discuss a possible separation agreement between the district and Superintendent Juan Cabrera.

Cabrera has been under scrutiny ever since it was revealed that he and former EPISD board President Dori Fenenbock were named in a California lawsuit alleging they defrauded charter school investors.

EPISD’s special meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 4 and will start off with a closed session in which they will consult with the district’s legal counsel regarding a “Proposed Voluntary Separation Agreement and Release and Employment Status of Superintendent” followed by a discussion on proposing the appointment of an Interim Superintendent.

Once the closed session is over, the meeting will reopen the meeting and possibly take any official action during the open session.

As of yet, there hasn’t been any details officially released on a separation agreement and while a parting of ways seems highly likely, nothing can be considered finalized until after Thursday’s meeting at the earliest.
