Englishman Jealous that Texas Hoards H-E-Bs from the Other States
Oli Pettigrew has gone viral after taking a bite of the Golden Apple that is H-E-B and now wonders why Texas won't share.
"There's one thing Texans absolutely point blank refuse to share with any of the other 49 states in America. It's theirs. It's a secret. It makes them feel special. You can't have it, and it's only three letters," Pettigrew said in a TikTok video that has now gone viral.
Apparently, H-E-B really is unavailable in any other part of the United States, but there is an exception, it's in northern Mexico, somewhere.
But why do so many people revere this simple grocery chain?
According to a profile by mysanantonio.com,
"Pettigrew praised H-E-B on its fresh vegetables, ready-to-meals (the Meal Simples), free samples, the "really good" sushi, and the "incredible" bakery. He said, "they (H-E-B) always seem to go the extra mile."
That sounds nice, but it doesn't sound all that different than a sprouts or whole foods grocery store.
Also, side note, if you didn't already know, H-E-B stands for its founder and Texas food magnate Howard E. Butt.
Sheesh. No wonder they shortened it.
It's literally a grocery chain named after a Butt.
"Howard E. Butt's got the freshest produce up its aisles," just doesn't sound right for some reason.
Talk about being the Butt of every joke.
Let me know what you think about H-E-B and whether it is or isn't all it's cracked up to be.
