As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, and hospitals begin to fill, El Pasoans need to take care of each other.

El Paso City and County officials have issued a daily curfew, starting tonight at 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. for all of El Pasoans. The only exceptions for this curfew are for those essentials works, according to KVIA.

During a press conference on Oct 25th, El Paso County Judge Richard Saminago made this announcement, along with sharing new guidelines and updates that are also starting today.

Another big announcement from his press conference included the announcement of local hospitals reaching capacity. According to KVIA, El Paso hospitals have seen a 300% increase in patients.

No matter your political party, or what Facebook meme you just saw, you really need to do your part to keep our community safe. Not sure who needs to hear this but this virus isn't a hoax, this is a pandemic.

I understand El Pasoans and the rest of the world are tired of staying home but we need to do everything we can to keep each other alive. When our community went through a terrorist attack and we rallied to show our strength, that was a beautiful moment we all hold on to.

Now more than ever, we need to believe we are El Paso Strong and help each other by wearing a face mask, not going out for unessential things, and keeping our social distance. I continue to hear and see people on social media saying they can't keep us in cages at home, but really think about how lucky you are to be safe, not stuck at home.
