The summer time-of-day watering schedule is now in force.

From now through September 30, 2017, El Paso residents may only water outdoor before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. on their designated days.

The conservation measure is designed to prevent water waste through evaporation during what is typically the hottest time of the day, according to Christina Montoya with El Paso Water.

If you have an even-numbered home address, your designated days to water are Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Saturdays. Odd-numbered addresses may only water on Wednesdays, Fridays and/or Sundays. Residential watering is not allowed on Mondays.

Residential car washing is only allowed if a bucket and/or a hand-held hose equipped with a shut-off nozzle is used. Violations of the ordinance can result in a $50 to $500 fine.
