If you're a pet owner, you know that taking care of them is the most important thing you can do for your doggo or kitty. You probably feed them the best food, make sure they get plenty of exercise, and get them groomed to keep them looking and feeling good. Pet groomers are an important part of your pet's life and health, so hearing about a pet groomer getting arrested for animal cruelty is especially sad.

El Paso Police are reporting that the owner of Karlu Pet Grooming, Luis Alberto Vargas, was arrested and has been charged with Cruelty to Non-Live Stock Animals (Causing Death). Vargas was arrested in connection with an investigation by the El Paso Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit. They were investigating the death of an 11 month old Husky.

The owner of the Husky reported that when she had gone to pick up her pet from Karlu Pet Grooming, she found her pet limp and with little signs of life. The owner reported that she immediately took the Husky to the veterinarian. Sadly, the Husky died upon arrival at the veterinarian. The veterinarian examined the Husky and did a necropsy, which is an autopsy on an animal. The veterinarian reported that there were signs of multiple injuries on the Husky.

Vargas has been booked into the County jail on a $3,000 bond.
