Go outside and play! Parents tell their kids that a lot, but with computers, XBoxes, iPhones, there are a thousand different distractions for kids indoors. The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department has come up with the perfect way to get your kids faces out of their electronics and into the sunshine!

Parks and Rec has two outdoor camps for kids ages 8-17 to keep kids busy in the next few months.

Trailblazers Outdoor Camps will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from April 29th – June 5th at Don Haskins Recreation Center, 7400 High Ridge Dr. and (Saturdays) at Pavo Real Recreation Center, 9301 Alameda Ave. from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. from May 3rd – June 7th.

Registration starts this week, April 14, and is limited to the first 25 participants only at each location. You can go online to register your rugrat at the Parks and Recreation website at elpasotexas.gov/parks, or go to the program location.
Kids will get to check out desert life while hiking, taking trips to local parks, bird watching, learning about bugs, and even learn archery and how to fish.
