As the start of the new school year nears, El Paso families already struggling with the rising cost of just about everything will have yet another expense to budget for; back-to-school shopping.

If your child’s school requires uniforms, several civic organizations are helping families refresh their school wardrobes and lessen the financial burden with a school uniform swap.

13th Annual Lions Club School Uniform Swap

The Ysleta, Five Points, and Del Norte Lions Clubs are sponsoring the Lions Club School Uniform Swap taking place at Eastlake High School on June 24. The swap, open to families from all districts and schools, works like this:

Those who want first dibs at the exchange are encouraged to turn in their gently used, clean uniforms at one of the five locations listed below. In return, they will get a voucher that allows them to shop first on the day of the swap.

One does not have to trade in uniforms to receive assistance, however, those without a voucher will be allowed in after people holding a voucher have received theirs.
