The recent decision to extend Fall Intersession through October 23 will not result in a continued halt of meal service at the El Paso Independent School District. EPISD will resume free meal distribution on Monday.

Curbside distribution of Grab N Go meals will be available to all children up to age 18 at every EPISD school from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, October 19-23.

Two extra weekend meals will be provided at the Friday pick-up. According to a post on the district website, the meals are free to any child regardless of district enrollment status. In other words, the child need not be a student in the El Paso Independent School District.

The child or children need not be present to receive the meals, however, parents or guardians must present one of the documents listed below for verification. Parents who pick up meals for their children will be given a verification card and will be required to pick up all meals at that campus from then on.

• Official document from any school to demonstrate enrollment.
• Report card
• Birth certificate
• Student ID card

The District had announced earlier this fall that free meals for all children would be distributed through the end of the year, but now thanks to new federal allowances made because of the pandemic, the meal program will be extended through the spring semester.
