El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank is helping out our neighbors in Beaumont and East Texas by sending two semi-trucks full of food and personal care items.

Early Thursday morning last week, Hurricane Laure touched down along the Texas-Louisiana border leaving behind extensive damage to homes, businesses and killing at least 16 people.

The historic storm blew off roofs, tore homes apart, flooded and caused massive power outages across the region. Now that the worst has passed, officials are warning returning residents that they will face weeks without power and water amidst an ongoing pandemic.

As the storm continues to bring in heavy rain and gusty winds, several non-profit organizations are working to offer aid and resources to local residents impacted by the hurricane including El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank.

Over the weekend, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank set out to deliver 2 trucks filled with food and personal care items to be delivered to residents of Beaumont and East Texas.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank released a statement saying, “EPFH staff and volunteers stand united with those affected by hurricane Laura and wish families in the area the best. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
