When you were a kid, did you want to be a fireman when you grew up?  Well, your dream job could become a reality!

The El Paso Fire Department is looking to hire about 77 new firefighters in the next year, and they're taking applications for their 84th Training Academy Class today.

Twenty of the firefighters who will be hired will be veterans and will be paid with a federal grant.  That grant specifies that the department has to actively recruit veterans.  Anyone can apply for the positions, however.

Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande will be holding a job fair today for veterans from 8a - 5p at their downtown location at 300 E. Main.  The Department will have people from it's Human Resources Team on site.  They'll be there to help veteran's who wish to apply online and answer any questions.

If you aren't a veteran and would like to apply, you can go online to elpasotexas.gov starting at 7am today.
