As the world pays tribute to David Bowie, El Paso fans will also be celebrating his life with a gathering on Friday, January 15 at Bowie Feathers in downtown El Paso.

The world was in shock on Monday morning when the news broke that David Bowie had passed away at the age of 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

Although battling cancer, Bowie never let on that he was ill working tirelessly until the end of his life, as is proof by the latest release of his 26th studio album “Blackstar”, which was released on Friday, January 8, the same day as his 69th birthday.

After Bowie’s death was announced many celebrities and fans took to social media to express the impact that David Bowie had on them whether, artistically, creatively or simply changing their lives through the immense power of his music.

Madonna took a moment during her Rebel Heart concert in Houston to pay tribute to David Bowie.

In David Bowie’s hometown of Brixton, London fans took to the streets, coming together to sing and celebrate the late and great David Bowie.

Here in El Paso, fans will gather on Friday at Bowie Feathers (named after Bowie) to celebrate his life with his music and the many artists he influenced.
