El Paso Artist Celebrating 13 Years of Deadboy With Spook Show
For the past 13 years, El Paso artist Eddie Marquez has created, and kept alive, the character of "Deadboy".
You may have seen Deadboy maybe once or twice; Marquez even had a comic strip in the local publication What's Up.
Deadboy got its start there and it took off from there. These days, you can catch Marquez and Deadboy as they take their talents to art shows and festivals.
In honor of 13 years of Deadboy, it is becoming a beer!
On October 15, Old Sheepdog Brewery will bring you an all new limited edition beer titled "Deadboy: A Fantasmagori Lager" made exclusively for Marquez and Deadboy!
But this isn't your ordinary launch, just as Deadboy isn't your ordinary character; this is a celebration, a spooky celebration!
In honor of the lager launch, Old Sheepdog Brewery and Deadboy are bringing along some spooky friends and throwing a huge Spook Show.
The Deadboy Fantasmagori Spook Show will bring together film, art and music for one huge spooky celebration. You can expect to see local artists like Juan Ornelas, Ana Deadgirl and Jessie Gandarilla, among others. (You can check out some of Jessie Gandarilla's art here).
The event will have music by As the City Sleeps and Melt Citizen. Horror films will also be shown.
Entry for the event is $5, but, because it is the Halloween season, and it IS a Spook Show, costumes are encouraged- and if you wear a costume, you get free entry!
Join Eddie Marquez at Old Sheepdog Brewery at 5900 Rosa Ave. on October 15 as they release Deadboy Fantasmagori Lager, and celebrate 13 years of Deadboy and help support other local artists!
As for Marquez and Deadboy, you can catch them at Chalk the Block, in Mesilla for Dia de los Muertos and a Pop art show on Black Friday. Check out more on Deadboy here.
