Earth Day is this weekend, and the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department is having their 9th annual Earth Day Celebration in San Jacinto Plaza.

The Earth Day Celebration is free, and there will be lots of fun activities for the whole family that will educate the community about different ways to protect and conserve not only the planet but our local environment, as well. The Environmental Services this year partnered with the Texas Senate District 29 Environmental Excellence Recognition Program for the program’s inaugural award ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the El Paso Community Foundation Room at 333 N. Oregon across from San Jacinto Plaza.

There will be local vendors, and you can learn about water conservation from EP Water, enjoy interactive games from TopGolf, or donate blood to help save lives. There will also be live music with the F.M. Junkies, R.C. Manner, and a mascot dance-off.

The beasties will also have a lot to keep them busy like a kid’s zone area, delicious food from food service trucks, and an art show made from recycled material.
