Fact: Regardless of what the weather feels like outside, it is safe to say that blankets are one of the greatest household items created because blanket’s have this amazing ability to provide a sense of comfort while you’re at home just hanging out.

It’s that sense of comfort that El Paso Animal Services is hoping to provide for some of their shelter pets and they are hoping the El Paso community can help them out!

WE NEED BLANKETS! Wait, blankets? In the summer,” read a post shared on Animal Services Facebook page.

According to Animal Service officials, blankets, regardless of how hot or cold it is outside, provide shelter pets with a sense of comfort.

Animal Services is running low on blankets and they are hoping locals can donate their new or gently used blankets and towels to their shelter to assure that every shelter pet has a blanket of their own.

“Blankets provide our pets with a small bit of comfort in their kennel while they are at the shelter waiting for their forever homes,” said organization officials.

We all know that animals can sometimes have accidents in their kennels so fleece blankets or towels are preferred because they wash and dry quicker!

If you have any new or gently used blankets that you would like to donate you can do so by dropping off your donations at the shelter which is located at 5001 Fred Wilson during their regular business hours: Monday- Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
