‘Spring Forward’ This Weekend – Get Ready to Save Some Daylight
Here’s your timely reminder from your Uncle Mikey that Daylight Saving Time goes into effect at 2 a.m. this Sunday, March 9, 2014. And yes, it’s ‘saving’ and not ‘savings’. And while I’m at it, it’s ‘Airway’ and not ‘Airways’. But I digress.
Because this twice-yearly tradition still confuses the crap out of some, I will also remind you of the catchy slogan, “Spring Forward, Fall Back.” That means that because it’s almost spring, you turn your clocks ahead one hour before hitting the sack on Saturday night, or upon awakening on Sunday morning. You probably won't have to worry about physically changing much though because you're not 100 years old. Most tech devices, like your cellie, tablet, and computer automatically adjust when DST begins or ends.
You yourself, however, may have some difficulty. According to a new study, it takes the average person three-and-a-half days to adjust to the time change. In other words, you'll be a zombie until Thursday. On the upside, Monday is the beginning of Spring Break week around here so chances are you won't have to worry about it throwing off your schedule of doing nothing. Lucky!
