Welcome to 2022, where the COVID-19 virus persists, and we still have no idea when or how this global pandemic will end.

For the last couple of years, most of us have been diligent about following the science, getting vaxxed, masking up, washing our hands, and disinfecting our space, yet, here we are going into year three of this unyielding pandemic.

Sadly, COVID-19 has taken many lives, and our healthcare workers are all spent, and for the virus to survive (like an alien), it must keep mutating. First, there was the Delta variant, now the Omicron variant, and God only knows what else it will mutate into next.

These days not only are we dealing with the virus, but we are also still prone and susceptible to the flu and the common cold, along with those annoying seasonal allergies.

What's even worse is that symptoms for Omicron, the flu, COVID-19, and the common cold all share pretty much the same symptoms that may or may not include:

  • Chills
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Scratchy Throat
  • Body Aches
  • Headache
  • Cold Sweats

So not only are we trying to dodge this deadly virus, we are now having to decipher if our sickly symptoms seem normal, especially when folks are coming down with not only the flu but COVID-19 simultaneously, which is now labeled the Flurona.

I thank my stars that I have been one of the lucky few who has not had COVID-19, but a couple of weeks ago, I came down with the flu, recovered, and then a week later came down with a cold, all the while getting tested, for COVID-19 resulting negative every time.

I'm not the only one who is going thru this get sick, test, get ill, and keep testing scenario because as we enter the third year of dealing with COVID-19, more and more family, friends, and coworkers are getting infected with the virus or the flu, or the common cold.

And we are all tired of it; I know I am. To be honest, I'm exhausted!

Tired or not, we still have a long way to go, so be kind to yourself and others and stay home if you feel sick because we're all in the same boat trying to get through this crazy thing we call life.
