A new mini version of the original Club 101 has reopened and re-branded simply as '101', giving off nostalgic and retro vibes.

Once upon a time, Club 101 ruled the scene where El Pasoans would line up en masse to discover new music and check out their favorite underground artists taking the stage while dancing and drinking the night away inside the hottest dance club in the city.

Soon after, other clubs followed, popping up around the Union Plaza and opening different nightclubs; however, they faded out with the times.

But now, Joe Dorgan, the brainchild of Club 101, is back with a new dance hot spot with 101, a place where you can once again dance all night to all your favorite retro tunes.

The space is relatively smaller but still manages to tap into all the same vibes of the original building. We're talking black walls, backlights, neon lighting, disco ball, stage, and Joe Dorgan at the helm inside the DJ booth jamming out hit after hit.

My friends and I hit up 101 on Saturday night, and the place was jam-packed with patrons from girl squads to friends celebrating birthdays and anyone who just wanted to get on the dancefloor and groove all night.

There is a cover of $5 to get in, and drinks are also inexpensive, offering everything from beer to White Claws for just $5.

It's been thirty-three years since the original Club 101 opened, but the new scaled-down version has become a new hotspot for anyone looking for a retro night out of dancing and guaranteed good times.

The Grand Opening is on October 14 and 15 at 4151 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX 79902.
