After closing its doors on March 18 to comply with the stay home orders, Cielo Vista Mall – like El Paso itself -- is starting to slowly re-open for business per Governor Abbot’s order.

The popular mall is one of the retail outlets now offering curbside pick-up, according to a post on its Facebook account. But its not like the good old days; not yet, anyway.

Only about a dozen stores are ready to go on such short notice and you're still not allowed to stroll into the mall like before the pandemic. Among the handful of stores currently participating are Dillard’s and Old Navy.

Retail-to-go curbside hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Here’s the list of participating retailers posted on the mall website:

Game Stop - Park at West Main Entrance between Sears and Dillard's Mens
Think Geek - Park at West Main Entrance between Sears and Dillard's Mens
Gordon's - Park at West Main Entrance between Sears and Dillard's Mens
Vitamin World - Park at West Main Entrance between Sears and Dillard's Mens
Hallmark - Park at West Main Entrance between Sears and Dillard's Mens
GNC - Park at West Main Entrance between Sear's and Dillard's Mens

Guess - Park at South Main Entrance facing Olive Garden
James Avery - Park at South Main facing James Avery
Children's Place - Park at South Main Entrance facing Olive Garden
Old Navy - Park at South Main Entrance facing Olive Garden

Dillard's - Park on the North parking area, next to Dillard's Women's
Chick-Fil-A - Park on the North Side between Sears and Dillard's Women's

Here’s How It Will Work

It’s pretty much the same model restaurants have been using since the ‘Rona started raging designed to limit contact between customers and store employees.

• Per the amended emergency directive, customers can only purchase items for pickup over the phone or internet. Entry into the store is not permitted.

• When picking the order up curbside, the customer should open the trunk for the store employee to place the order in it, or have the employee put it in the backseat.

• All payments, if possible, should be done over the phone or online. If that’s not possible, measures will be taken to limit contact during the payment process.
