The West El Paso Rotary Club will be celebrating its 20th Independence Day Parade this year, and they want to make it the best ever. The Rotary will waive parade entry fees for all church and youth groups this year to encourage more entries into the parade.

If you have a group you would like to sign up, go to july4parade.com and download the application, or you can email it to westelpasorotary@gmail.com

The parade will begin at Western Hills Methodist Church at 530 Thunderbird at 9:00 a.m. on the Fourth of July. The route will go left onto Thunderbird, left at Shadow Mountain, right on Mesa and then proceed to Coronado High School.
There are some big money prizes for this year’s event. First Place will win $1000, Second Place, $750, Third Place, $500, and Fourth Place will get $250. Floats and groups will be judged on special effects, costume originality, theme and crowd pleasing.

This is one of the biggest Independence Day parades in town, and this year’s parade will have the theme “Proud to be an American.” The entry deadline is Saturday, June 13 at midnight.
