Wednesday You Can Experience a Chihuhuas Weekday Day Game
I’ll give you a little secret about Chihuahua’s baseball.
The most fun games are the ones that are day games…ON a weekday.
And, looky looky! We have one of these very rare day games coming up this Wednesday, April 19th at Southwest University Park.
Sure, night games are great. Likewise, Saturday or Sunday day games can be a lot of fun.
But, there’s just something special about a game that starts at 11 am or noon on a day you would normally be working. Here’s the scoop…
THERE AREN’T MANY OF THEM
Weekday day-games feel special because they ARE special. On this year’s schedule we have only FOUR of these midweek bacchanalias.
There’s the one this Wednesday where, as a bonus, we might get to see big league superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. before he heads back to the Padres on April 20th.
The other weekday day-games are May 23rd, September 6 and September 13. Those are all Tuesdays.
IT FEELS LIKE YOU’RE PLAYING HOOKY
If you can get away with it, going to a baseball game when you SHOULD be at work or in school is one of the best feelings.
It has major Ferris Bueller vibes WITHOUT the worry that you’ll be busted on T.V.
You’re also “playing hooky” with a few thousand other people which brings us to the next point…
IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYBODY IS THERE
I know a lot of people in town and, for some reason, it seems like ALL of them are there for a weekday day-game.
You’ll definitely see people you know and you’ll wonder, “How did HE manage to get the day off?”
You’ll also see plenty of people that you may not know but you know OF.
Politicians, lawyers, athletes, radio personalities (ahem).
All of them are there celebrating the thing that makes America great: f***ing off from work and getting hammered in public at a baseball game.
God Bless this country.
