Celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez caused quite the social media stir back in April when he showed up at the Chico’s Tacos on George Dieter to film a segment for his Cooking Channel series, Taco Trip.

Sanchez was born in El Paso and lived here for a number of years, so it’s no surprise he chose to go taco trippin’ in the city that holds a special place in his heart.

The show is all about Aaron “visiting the hottest taco joints the United States has to offer” and visiting with the “chefs, families, and locals who have helped define each city’s culinary landscape.” And of course, regardless of whether you love them or hate them, if you’re going to spotlight tacos that define El Paso’s culinary landscape, you have to include Chico’s Tacos.

Aaron’s love for Chico’s is no secret. He sang the praises of the non-traditional tacos in a 2009 episode of Food Network's 'Best Thing I Ever Ate - With My Hands,' referring to them as the “most unattractive, but most wonderful” taco he’s ever had.

Sanchez also paid Tacoholics inside Funkmeyers on Lee Trevino, and Lucy's Cafe, next door to the King's X on N. Mesa, a visit. They'll both be featured alongside Chico's.

Airdates for the El Paso edition are Sept. 1 at 8 p.m., Sept. 6,  at 1 p.m., and Sept. 15 at 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
