Just because you can't ride the tramway anymore up to Ranger Peak on the Wyler Aerial Tramway doesn't mean there aren't things to do on the mountain. This weekend, you can take a hike up the mountain to Ranger Peak during the Wyler Aerial Tramway's Last Sunday Hike. The Tramway does hikes throughout the year, and they hold a hike on the last Sunday of every month.

This time the hike will be up Directisimo to the junction with Jackaloop trail and then back down the same way. You will need to be properly dressed and supplied because even though it's not the middle of summer, this is a strenuous hike that will take a lot out of you. Make sure you have:

Enough water for everyone in your group
Sturdy shoes that are designed for hiking
Weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a hat for shade, and sunglasses

Another thing you need to know, this hike is rated as strenuous and not recommended for first time hikers. If this is your first try at hiking, this is probably not the hike for you.*

You can get more information about this hike and other events by calling (915) 562-9899.

*Each individual hiker is responsible for their own personal safety/health and of their guests when participating. If you have a medical condition that may be aggravated with any kind of physical activity you must make your own personal decision about attending.
