The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department invites the public to attend “El Paso’s Earth Day Celebration.” Go Green and Party!

The third annual celebration will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 20th at the Union Plaza District, 511 Western Court, along Anthony Street and San Francisco Avenue. This year, the outdoor event will be held in conjunction with the Downtown Artist Market.

“El Paso’s Earth Day Celebration” promotes, recycling, waste reduction, education of environmental issues and encourages the public to integrate sustainable practices into their everyday lives. The family-friendly event will feature educational booths focusing on going green, the environment and public health.

Entrance fee will be FREE! There will be food, entertainment, art displays, activities for children, health screenings, community exhibits and more than 80 interactive booths. Other attractions include a live band and DJ on separate stages, and a jumping balloon for children. Visitors can also purchase locally produced arts and crafts from Downtown Artist Market merchants.

New to the celebration this year is the unveiling of a mural on a roll-off garbage dumpster. You will finally get to see the big reveal of the mural designed and painted by the winning students from Americas High School.

“El Paso’s Earth Day Celebration” kicks-off several local events commemorating Earth Day. When you are heading out to these events, remember the Environmental Services Department encourages residents to walk, ride a bike, ride the bus or carpool to the celebration.
