The highly anticipated Broadway Musical Waitress has is rescheduled until 2022.

The 2020 Broadway in El Paso season was cut short due to the novel coronavirus, prompting cancellations in the entertainment industry across the board, including touring theatre shows.

Sadly with the ongoing pandemic, many stage productions and events were postponed indefinitely or canceling altogether, such as Cameron Macintosh’s acclaimed, record-breaking North American touring production Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg's musical Les Misérables.

The remaining productions of Broadway in El Paso productions also scheduled for 2020, were postponed for 2021, including STOMP and Waitress.

However, now it turns out that the Waitress's musical production has been re-rescheduled for May 24-25, 2022, at the Plaza Theatre.

Single and season ticket holders – hang on to your tickets because they will be valid for the upcoming rescheduled dates. If you cannot attend the new performance date/time, you may exchange for the other time based on availability.

New Waitress Dates:

  • Tuesday - May 24, 2022, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday - May 25, 2022, at 7:30 p.m.

Adrienne Shelly and Jessie Nelson wrote the musical based on the 2007 motion picture Waitress, starring Keri Russell. Grammy winner Sara Bareilles also composed the musical score, who has sold over one million albums and over nine million singles, including two of her biggest hits, Love Song and Brave.

The musical follows Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town as she faces an unhappy marriage, an unplanned pregnancy, and a dead-end job. She soon finds a chance at a fresh start when a baking contest in a nearby county — and an encounter with someone new – if she can only see the courage to seize her unique opportunity.

Tickets are officially on sale now and available for purchase at Ticketmaster.com and the Plaza Theatre Box Office. Ticket prices start at $32.50 plus tax and fees.
