With the new school year upon us and our children heading back to the classroom, a new report details which school districts are the best in our area.

The list was released by the research company Niche, which specializes in analyzing public data and reviews “to produce comprehensive rankings, report cards, and profiles for every K-12 school [and] college…in the U.S.”

According to its 5th Annual Best Schools rankings report, Ysleta and Socorro ISD are the best school districts in El Paso.

Both achieved an A-minus ranking, placing them at the top. The largest district in the area, El Paso ISD, scored a B-plus ranking and third overall. The lowest score by any district in the area was a B-minus.

Ranking factors used included state test scores, graduation rates, and SAT/ACT scores as well as more subjective criteria, such as survey responses and reviews from parents, students, and Niche users.
