August Tasting Tour Highlights Flavors of Downtown El Paso Restaurants

From swanky steakhouses and hotel restaurants to legendary hole-in-the-wall spots, downtown El Paso dining offers something for every taste and taste bud.

The Downtown Tasting Tour, a monthly summer restaurant crawl sponsored by the Downtown El Paso Management District, is a chance for both foodies and the curious to get a taste of downtown eats, and walk off some of the tasty calories ingested. It’s a win-win.

The Restaurants

Ambar

Ambar in the Plaza Hotel, Kaffa coffee house, Lapa Lapa, and The Reagan are among the participating restaurants showcasing one of their delectable dishes for this go-round.

Located on the lobby level of The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, Ambar is home to the biggest collection of tequilas in the US. The meals are designed to be shared and the menu is all about the flavors of El Paso and Juarez.

Kaffa Coffee Shop

Coffee, pastries, beer and wine in a bohemian atmosphere. Sip/slurp. Ahh.

Lapa Lapa Seafood & Drinks

August Tasting Tour Dates and Details

The next Tasting Tour is on Wednesday, August 31, from 5 to 9 p.m.

The tour is self-guided. The DMD provides you with a map and a menu to the participating restaurants and then turns you loose; you decide on the order you go in and how long you want to spend at each restaurant.
