Are Mariah Carey + James Packer Engaged?

Mariah Carey may have found the perfect ring to pair with her charmbracelet.

According to E!, the singer and Australian businessman James Packer are engaged. The site says Packer popped the question in Mimi's hometown last night (January 21) and wowed her with a 35-carat engagement ring. Quite a commitment for two people who have been together for less than a year.

The couple first met at a film premiere in Aspen, and over the past 10 months, have been jet-setting all over the world together (an excursion to Italy looked particularly romantic). In July 2015, just before singing "Hero" during a Las Vegas show, Mariah finally admitted she was in deep, and told a crowd "I’ve got a new heart tonight. James is in the house. I dedicate this next song to him."
