Annual 5K Honoring Late El Paso Serviceman To Be Held In September

The Sixth Annual Danny Ray Sanchez 5K Memorial Run commemorating the Senior Airman and former Montwood graduate will take place on Saturday, September 3rd at Montwood High School.

T-shirts and prizes will be provided as well as medals to the top three finishers in various groups and a trophy will be presented to the largest team. You can register for the race at raceadventuresunlimited.com. Online registration is $20 and will include a t-shirt for the first 200 participants. The registration fee will increase to $25 on race day.

A 2005 graduate of Montwood High School, Senior Airman Daniel R. Sanchez, 23, died as a result of a gunshot wound on September 16, 2010 while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
