Actress Rosario Dawson To Be Featured At This Year’s YWCA Woman’s Luncheon

The YWCA El Paso del Norte Regions 21st Annual YWCA Women’s Luncheon will feature actress and philanthropist, Rosario Dawson on Thursday April 17th, 2013.

Now in its 21st year, the Women’s Luncheon has become a signature community event.  Over the years, support for the event has grown and now more than 2,200 people attend annually.  

All monies raised help support programs that invest in women and children, strengthen families in transition, build the community, and develop leadership activities in women and girls while helping them reach their full potential.

Rosario Dawson has garnered praise for her numerous leading roles with today’s hottest film actors and directors, making her one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading ladies. She has been honored with awards such as “Supporting Actress of the Year”, “Best Actress in a Motion Picture”, and the “Half-Life” Award.

Understanding the importance of balancing a busy professional life with one of philanthropy, Dawson also lends her time to a range of influential organizations including Voto Latino, a movement that gives a voice and platform to the growing Latino population in the world of politics, which Dawson co-founded in 2004.

Dawson’s tireless humanitarian work was recently rewarded with the “President’s Volunteer Service Award” for her valuable contributions to the community and encouragement in getting others involved.
