2019 Sun Bowl Parade

It is the eve of Thanksgiving and the float builders are working harder than Santa's elves. Oscar Leeser's Hyundai of El Paso Sun Bowl Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and run from Montana Ave. from Ochoa to Copia Street.

Before the stunning parade floats take to the streets of El Paso, Executive Director of the Sun Bowl Association, Bernie Olivas allowed us into one of the many warehouses housing the floats.

While we do not want to give away the stunning first-looks, we are sharing some photos at parts of certain floats. As you can see, plenty of work is still needed to finish these floats but from what they have so far looks amazing! I have not attended a thanksgiving parade before, so I was instantly in awe of how amazingly detailed these floats are. I am so looking forward to Oscar Leeser's float which looks like they will feature some amazingly detailed bobbleheads, including one of Oscar.

If you plan on heading out to the parade, make sure to get there early as space goes fast. If you are wanting to get into the review stands, you can purchase tickets to access those for ten dollars at the Sun Bowl Association Office.

According to KFOX14, the parade route area will begin closing down the streets at 5:30 a.m. If you think you are going to try to save a spot the night before, you better think again. Vehicles will be towed from the Montana area starting at 5 a.m.
