Here is a rundown of today’s historic inauguration day events in El Paso time, starting early this morning and continues into this evening.

At noon today, president-elect Joe Biden and vice president Kamala Harris, the first woman of Black American and South Asian descent, will be sworn in.

Due to the time zone change the live inaugural events that begin at 7 a.m. EST will play out 2 hours earlier in El Paso (MST).

Inauguration Day Schedule of Events - El Paso MST :

President-elect Joe Biden will begin his new presidential journey by attending mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew in downtown Washington, DC.

5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. PT: Our White House: An Inaugural Celebration for Young Americans

  • Actress Keke Palmer will host the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s first-ever live stream for young Americans before and during the inaugural ceremonies.

9 a.m. – Arrival

  • Joe Biden arrives at the U.S. Capitol.

9:15 a.m. – The inauguration program begins:

  • Invocation – Father Leo J. O’Donovan
  • Pledge of Allegiance – Andrea Hall
  • National Anthem – Sung by Lady Gaga
  • Poetry Reading – Amanda Gorman
  • Musical Performances by – Jennifer Lopez & Garth Brooks

10 a.m. – Sworn In Ceremony

  • Just after the clock strikes 12 p.m. (EST), Biden will be sworn in as 46th president, taking the oath with his hand on top of his 127-year-old family Bible, held by his wife, Jill Biden.

12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Biden lays a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

  • The Biden’s will be joined by Kamala Harris and her husband, President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, President George W. Bush and Laura Bush and President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton for the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

1:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Presidential White House Escort

  • The Biden’s will receive their presidential military escort to the White House.

Soon after, the virtual “Parade Across America” will begin as Joe and Jill Biden enter the White House, featuring communities from around the country.

6:30 p.m. – Celebrating America TV Special

  • Celebrating America, A 90-minute special hosted by Tom Hanks will feature remarks by Biden and Harris and performances by Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, and many others. The special will air live at 8:30 p.m. EST/PST on TV networks, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC. The special will also be available to stream live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, NewsNOW from Fox, and AT&T DirecTV and U-verse.

  • PBS will have coverage of Inauguration Day beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
  • ABC begins its Inauguration Day coverage at 7 a.m. ET on Good Morning America will be followed by seven full hours of inauguration coverage from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
  • CBS will cover the Inauguration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET
  • NBC will air six hours of Inauguration Day coverage from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET
  • FOX will feature Inauguration Day coverage, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
  • CNN’s Inauguration day coverage is on now through Thursday, January 21 at 4 a.m.
  • MSNBC will begin its coverage at 9 a.m. ET

Streaming

  • The Roku Channel offers multiple platforms to watch, including ABC News, Cheddar, NBC News NOW, and Newsy.
